So the November 15th deadline for submissions has passed and we here at Heyday Magazine are sifting through the remaining poems/songs/artwork. If you haven’t heard from us yet, that probably means that your piece(s) are fighting tooth and nail in the maybe pile for a spot in the December 1st Issue. Have patience with us as we’re finalizing all decisions this weekend and sending out notifications.

So, there are only two more weeks to submit for the December Heyday Magazine Issue 3, and the table of contents is being populated by those poems that are an absolute YES! We also have a ton of strong poems fighting it out in the maybe pile for a spot in this quarters pages, (if you’ve already submitted, we will be sending out emails with the decisions over the next week) so thank you for your patience as we allow all the poems a chance at inclusion.
Submit up to three poems or three pages (whichever comes first) via our new submission manager on or before November 15th. Just click on the Submit tab above for detailed guidelines (please read and follow them!!!).
Also, there is now a CONTEST tab here on the site, where you’ll find the details of our first annual Heyday Poetry and Artwork contests! Prizes include: publication in a special award section of the June 2012 issue of Heyday Magazine, Subscriptions to both Heyday and Post-Art, and CASH! Yep, that’s right, the green stuff for your poems and artwork! Checka-checkit-OUT!!!

In addition to the launch of Heyday Vol.1, Issue 2, many great things are happening here at Heyday Magazine. We’re excited to announce the Heyday Poetry Series at Half-Moon Books in Kingston, NY. If your in or near the Hudson Valley region of New York State, every 4th Saturday, beginning Saturday, Sept. 24th at 3 p.m. our Editor-in-Chief, Chris Wood will be hosting a poetry series at this cozy used bookstore with the biggest poetry section of any used bookshop in the Hudson Valley. This event is also a part of the 100,000 poets for change There is an open reading, so if your in the area, come out and share some wine, cheese, and delicious words with us!

With just one more day before the release of Heyday Magazine Vol.1, Issue 2, we’ve made the poetry and artwork previews available on the site. You’ll also notice that there is an Archive tab now where you will find poetry and artwork from past issues of Heyday, which will be available at a discount price in the Heyday Store upon the release of each new quarterly installment.
The all-new Media section will be up and functional in the coming days and will include audio/video of both music and poetry performances.

Heyday Vol.1, Issue 2 promises to be an epic collection of Art! Still sifting through all the submissions and will list the contents of the upcoming issue later this week. If your in the Hudson Valley area of New York, we’re launching the issue at Noble Coffee Roasters in Campbell Hall, NY on Thursday September 1st at 7 p.m. Where our Editor-in-Chief, Chris Wood will be a featured poet and will be reading pieces from the issue as well as his own material. There is an open-mic afterword, so come share some delicious words with us!
